About
Lauren Jackson is a South Alabama native whose music draws from folk, Americana/roots, jazz, and gospel. For her, music has always given language to intense or difficult feelings. Her songs became containers she could pour into. As she always says,
“A song a day keeps the mental breakdown away.”
(She never says that.)
At 35, after spending several years in New Orleans working as a chef, Lauren decided to return to her original passion: singing and songwriting. Her songs are shaped by her ability to love deeply—and a terrible habit of gifting that love to the wrong people. (She’s working on it.)
She is currently preparing to release her debut album, Home, produced by BBC award-winning Scottish singer-songwriter Adam Holmes and recorded at Tpot Studio in Perthshire, Scotland.
